The Scotch-Brite™ Coating Removal Disc SB18424 is an extra coarse grade silicon carbide disc with a non-woven, semi-open web construction and non-loading design. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish. The open web, non-loading construction provide durability and optimizes cut, making the product ideal for removing rust and coatings during heavy duty applications. The Scotch-Brite™ Coating Removal Disc SB18424 has a backing that quickly and easily mounts to Hook and Loop Pads (sold separately).
